I love the mix of working with others on their stories, initiating my own projects, and teaching, where I always learn something new.
Working for almost 30 years in the TV and Film industry in Ireland every project brings their own challenges and excitement. Most recently I worked the writer/director Philip Doherty on his debut feature REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE. I am currently working with actor/creator Charleigh Bailey on her TV comedy drama for RTÉ.
I produced the feature documentary UNDER THE CLOCK, supported by Screen Ireland and RTÉ and the animated short film ABE’S STORY.
For many years I worked in RTÉ managing numerous TV Drama and Comedy series onto screen, many with first time writers including the iconic PATHS TO FREEDOM, RAW, LOVE IS THE DRUG, ANYTIME NOW, Emmy winner NO TEARS and FOREIGN EXCHANGE.
I also pre-bought feature films including Oscar winning ONCE, ADAM & PAUL and WHAT RICHARD DID. I script edited the movie SPIN THE BOTTLE, and I commissioned well over 100 short films, live-action and animation, many award winning including Oscar nominees.
I originated and designed the unique initiative Storyland to commission online series which has proven to be a successful way to develop audience and break new talent.
As a consultant I help programme makers and writers clarify their ideas. I focus on concept generation, format and story structure in comedy, drama, lifestyle series, scripted reality and factual programming.
I am passionate about lifelong learning. As a trainer and teacher I work with students at undergraduate and postgraduate level in addition to those taking courses to continue their professional development. During lockdown I delivered several courses online on creating a web series for Screen Training Ireland.
I deliver bespoke workshops and training for clients in Ireland and the UK.
I sit on many awarding panels for funding bodies. For many years I was a decision maker at EAVE. And was a judge on the International Emmys.
